Illinois Marathon in Savoy - April 2024

This year the Illinois Marathon has the marathon race distance back!   Savoy joined with Champaign and Urbana so that the distance for the marathon could be accomplished.  About 4 miles of the marathon will run through Savoy and is a great opportunity (close to home) to see the race and cheer runners on.  The race is held on Saturday, April 27 beginning at 7:30 AM and the race time limit is described as 6 hours.  Specific information (about traffic control etc.) will come to those along the route from race organizers. 

The event is a positive and fun event and volunteers are needed for the race – many positions are right here in Savoy.  The Village of Savoy will have some fun signs along the route to welcome runners to Savoy. It is fun to volunteer and as a past volunteers highly recommend the experience!
